EARTHDANCE Arusha, Tanzania, 2008 |
New Primary Classroom
Earthdance, the annual global dance and music festival for peace and humanitarian causes takes place in September in many countries all over the world.
Masai Camp, in Arusha, hosted its 5th annual Earthdance on September 13th. ACT benefited from last year's event and used the money to finance its community centre and kindergarten in the Maasai village of Olmuringiringa.
This year the money received from the event will go into the building fund for classrooms and teachers' houses.
ACT especially thanks Ian Robertson and Karl Hoffman of Tanelec Ltd for their generous donation of $3,000 USD to fund the event. The organizers also thank the many companies and individuals who gave their valuable support and services. (See Newsletter #9 Oct 2008) |

On Saturday September 16th over six hundred people attended the Earthdance Global Festival for Peace held at Masai Camp, Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa.
During the day visitors were able to listen to music, watch cultural dance troupes, browse around stalls selling arts and crafts, and enjoy the ambience of the venue. At night the music stage was transformed with clever lighting and imaginative decoration to host several local bands each with its own eclectic sound and recorded music played by different DJs.
