Bulati primary school pupils enjoy a game of netball
In 2005, Bob and Mary Gray visited the Ngorongoro and Olmoti Crater areas of northern Tanzania and were able to briefly visit the Nainokanoka and Bulati primary schools.
They were particularly impressed by the friendliness and enthusiasm of the pupils and teachers and the lack of teaching and recreational resources compared with even the poorest schools in their home country, New Zealand.

David George, Bruce Robertson, Richard Turland, Dave Cabrelli and Desperate Dan
Despite horrendous weather conditions in April 2006 four energetic lads (David George, Bruce Robertson, Richard Turland and Dave Cabrelli) cycled nearly 300 miles from Newcastle in the north of England to Dundee in Scotland and managed to raise nearly ₤1,000 for ACT.
The trip took 5 days and according to Bruce their speed ranged from 3 to 30 miles per hour.
The statue on the right is of Desperate Dan, that well loved comic hero from the Dandy, born in Dundee.

Melanie Finn
Snow-capped Kilimanjaro was the backdrop for the Kilimarathon held on the 27th of February in the town of Moshi. Friend and author Melanie Finn ran the whole distance, a remarkable 42.2 kilometres (or 26 miles) in gruelling temperatures in just over 4 hours.
Melanie had decided to run especially for the Arusha Children's Trust and together, we collected quite a few sponsors. Her amazing effort raised over $US 1,000
To quote Melanie "Not bad for four hours work!". Congratulations also to Melanie on her recent marriage to Matt! Will Romans won the prize draw of a signed copy of Melanie's first book 'Away From You'.
